Take A Walk - Passion Pit
The Rifle’s Spiral- The Shins
“So long to this wretched form.
Them grey eyes on the subway
Long before you were born
You were always to be a dagger floating
Straight to their heart.
You’re not invisible, now.
You just don’t exist.”
Month of May- Arcade Fire
“Month of May, everybody’s in love,
Then the city was hit from above,
And just when I knew what I wanted to say
The violent wind blew the wires away.”Woo it’s May 1st!
Forgot to reblog this on May 1st, but w/e. Love this song, May or not.
This album is pretty different from the other albums she’s done. Her vocal style is generally the same, but nevertheless, my reaction is:

Pluto by Twintapes
an original song
“I’m off to Pluto
to find someone just like you.”
Such a mellow track, it brings the vision of walking through a snow covered field surrounded by forest in wintertime to me.
Bad Dream- Keane
“I was fighting
But I just feel too tired
To be fighting.
Guess I’m not the fighting kind.
Wouldn’t mind it
If you were by my side,
But you’re long gone
Yeah you’re long gone now.”
Paper Bag- Fiona Apple
“Hunger hurts, and I want him so bad, oh it kills
‘Cause I know I’m a mess he don’t wanna clean up
I got to fold ‘cause these hands are too shaky to hold
Hunger hurts, but starving works, when it costs too much to love”
Round and Round- Ariel Pink
Performed by PS22 Chorus
The World Has Turned and Left Me Here- Weezer
“I talked for hours to your wallet photograph,
And you just listened.
You laughed enchanted by my intellect,
Or maybe you didn’t.
You remain, turned away
Turning further every day.”
Widowspeak - “Gun Shy”
Dreamy & grungy, dark & hazy, yet beautiful & beachy, this track by Brooklyn-based Widowspeak is also infectious to the max. Their self-titled debut album is released today & I highly recommend heading HERE to obtain that goodness. And do travel to Glasslands tonight for their record release show!, seeee yuh there.
P.S. Quite proud to say that my dear friend John Stortz is the creator of Widowspeak’s album art! He also did their poster for tonight (pictured below) that’s obscenely amazing. Check out more of his stuff HERE, the dude’s incredible.
What I Am- Edie Brickell & New Bohemians
“Philosophy is a talk on a cereal box.
Religion is a smile on a dog.
I’m not aware of too many things,
I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Chuck me in the shallow water before I get too deep.”
Culture War- Arcade Fire
“Now the future’s staring at me
Like a vision from the pastThese are different times that we’re living in.”
