Day two of vacation.
We went to Assateague Island Beach in Maryland which is part of Assateague Island National Seashore. The island is known for their wild horses that were left by Spanish explorers and now roam the island.
I was sitting and sketching a dead Horseshoe Crab (like the art student I am) and the horses started coming right towards me over the dunes. There were about fifteen of them and they were acting like a high school click and they weren’t about to stop because I was in their way.
They patrol the beach looking for food, even though people aren’t supposed to feed them. The lead mare walked over to this one guys blanket and another horse came trotting up and took his plastic bag with his lunch in it. They went running down the beach looking for more. Hahaha I couldn’t believe it that this guy was robbed of his lunch by a herd of wild rogue horses.
